Lee C. Almeida is a Director, Risk Strategy of Velligan-Blaxall Consultants, LLC. In this capacity he serves the firm’s client base by overseeing and providing advanced risk model support including implementations, process reviews and third party validation. He also provides consulting on IRR and liquidity risk management, regulatory compliance, policy review and general risk management governance.

Lee started his banking career in 1991 with Dauphin Deposit Corporation in Harrisburg, PA, which was acquired by Allied Irish Bank in 1997. At that time, he joined Fulton Financial Corporation in Lancaster, PA as the Asset/Liability Manager. In 2005 he left Fulton to assume the VP/Director, ALM position with AgFirst Farm Credit Bank in Columbia, SC. In 2008 he joined Sovereign Bank (owned by Banco Santander of Spain) as the VP/ALCO Manager and remained there until 2011 when he decided to join VBC.

Lee earned the equivalency of an accounting degree from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) in the UK. He spent over 10 years overseas in senior accounting roles working for Noritake fine china company of Japan and Emirates Airline in Dubai, UAE, prior to choosing Asset/Liability Management as his career. Lee has extensive experience running various advanced risk models including FISERV and QRM.

Lee is married and lives with his wife Marie in Columbia, SC. Lee likes to spend time reading, gardening and loves to travel and meet people.
