Mary Benner is a Senior Financial Analyst of Velligan-Blaxall Consultants, LLC. In this capacity, she serves the firm’s client base through Asset/Liability analysis and data management.

Previously, Mary spent nineteen years at Harleysville National Corp, culminating in the position of Assistant Vice President of Finance. Her responsibilities included the in-house development of activity based organizational, product and customer profitability management systems using FISERV Profitability suite modules. Other responsibilities included budgeting, maintaining Silverlake GL interfaces, supervising the daily batch uploading of general ledger entries, annual, quarterly and monthly reporting and being her department’s liaison with I/T. She frequently used her Access database skills to automate manual processes and improve efficiency in her area of Finance, Accounting and Investments and other departments of the bank.

Mary was the lead administrator for Fedline for eighteen years. In that role, she lead the transition of Fedline from a DOS environment for wire transfers and ACH to the web-based Fedline Advantage and transitioned savings bond processing and cash ordering to Fed for Web in 2005. She was the wire room supervisor from 2003 to 2008.

Mary phased the bank in for electronic filing of SEC reporting using EDGAR software in 1995 and was responsible for HNC’s EDGAR filings until 2005. She beta tested new software for EDGARfilings and was a leading customer resource for that company.

Earlier in her career at HNC, Mary was responsible for FDIC and FRB regulatory reporting. She worked with FRB to achieve the first electronic filing of FR-Y-9 reports by a bank in the Philadelphia FRB region in 1993. She was part of a team that automated HNC’s Call Reporting by implementing Jack Henry’s Call Report module in 2007.

Mary received her B.B.A. in Accounting from The University of Albuquerque, Albuquerque, NM. She is also experienced with the SAS programming language and is currently pursuing her SAS programmer certification for the SAS 9 credential.

Mary is single and resides in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. In her free time, Mary enjoys kayaking, reading, gardening and walking.
