Ivo Steijn, Ph.D. Joins VBC

Haverford, PA – September 6, 2022 – VBC is pleased to announce that Ivo Steijn, Ph.D., a leading expert in econometrics and quantitative modeling, has joined the firm as Managing Director – Model Validations. Ivo will primarily be responsible for continuing to enhance VBC’s quantitative validation capabilities with a particular focus on credit risk and the development of challenger models as part of VBC’s advanced validation offerings. Ivo will also contribute to other VBC service offerings including our VBC Advisors consulting services and our Product Analytics division.

Ivo is a PhD. Econometrician with decades of experience in developing and validating quantitative models in platforms such as Python, R and SAS, and has expertise in all areas of econometric and statistical modeling, including machine learning techniques.

Ivo was previously with Silicon Valley Bank and State Street Corporation where he led model validation departments and was involved in validating quantitative models, including CCAR, CECL, Credit Analytics, Fraud/Money Laundering detection, etc. Ivo is also an accomplished thought leader and has spoken at many Model Risk conferences. Prior to his banking career, Ivo held various risk positions in the Energy sector, specializing in risk management and the valuation of structured contracts.
