Amy Illich
Director, Quantitative Modeling
Amy Illich is a Director, Quantitative Modeling, at VBC. She is primarily responsible for supporting the model validation division, the service bureau modeling division, and other firm-wide strategic initiatives.
Prior to joining VBC, Amy spent over five years at a New England-based bank with approximately $20 billion in assets. As part of the Enterprise Risk Management department, Amy worked as the Quantitative Analytics Manager where she implemented and managed the bank’s Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) program. In addition to CECL, Amy developed the bank’s constant prepayment rate models, probability-of-default econometric models, as well as all Dodd-Frank Act Stress Testing (DFAST) econometric models used to assess capital levels under various scenarios. In addition to her modeling strengths, Amy is well-versed in the regulatory challenges and expectations that face the industry today as it relates to model controls, ongoing performance monitoring, and model management.
Amy received a B.S. in Applied Mathematics with a concentration in Economics from the University of New Hampshire. Amy then went on to pursue a Masters in Analytics with a concentration in Statistical Modeling from Northeastern University.
Through her work experience and studies, Amy is skilled in various machine learning algorithms, generalized linear regression models, data analytics, and database management. Amy is proficient in R, SAS, SQL, Alteryx, and Tableau.
Outside of work, Amy enjoys gardening, woodworking, and spending time outdoors with her husband, Eric and her cat, Eloise.
