Camden Eaton
Assistant Director, Credit Risk Model Validation
Camden Eaton is an Assistant Director of Credit Risk Model Validation at VBC, where he leads CECL model validations for banks and credit unions. He conducts detailed model testing, governance review, benchmarking, and performance analysis across multiple CECL methodologies. Camden works directly with clients to present findings and deliver recommendations that strengthen model reliability, enhance compliance, and support sound risk management practices. Colleagues and clients alike appreciate him for his personable demeanor and clear communication.
Prior to joining VBC, Camden spent more than three years at an international consulting and public accounting firm where he validated over one hundred CECL models for financial institutions, averaging $5 billion in assets. His work included qualitative factor framework reviews, back-testing, peer benchmarking using call report data, and stress testing key assumptions. Camden has a penchant for developing reporting enhancements and process improvements that improve data integrity and analytical efficiency.
Earlier in his career, Camden served in the United States Air Force as a Data Operations Specialist, where he managed information security audits and database governance initiatives. This experience shaped his disciplined approach to data management and model controls, contributing to his current specialization in credit risk validation.
Camden holds a B.B.A. in Finance, Business Analytics and Information Systems from the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business and is currently pursuing his M.B.A. in Finance at the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater.
Camden currently resides in Madison, Wisconsin where he enjoys playing golf and watching soccer in his spare time.
