Sam Pepper is a Managing Principal in the Strategy & Performance Group at VBC. He brings over 20 years of executive and senior leadership experience in the financial services sector. His extensive background includes 37 years in banking, during which he held roles such as Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Lending Officer, and various other positions at several community and regional banks across the Midwest, Northeast, and Mid-Atlantic regions.
With a distinguished career in banking, Mr. Pepper has demonstrated consistent success in leading businesses within community and regional banks. He has specialized in growth-oriented organizations and turnaround opportunities. His broad experience encompasses leading strategic planning, risk management, corporate and commercial banking, new business initiatives, operations, product development, and marketing within complex commercial banking environments.
Prior to joining VBC, Sam worked as a Senior Risk Advisor at a consulting firm that focused on risk management, regulatory, and compliance services. Clients included community and regional banks, as well as FinTech companies. His responsibilities encompassed developing enterprise and operational frameworks to help organizations strengthen their risk management strategies, practices and overall performance.
